TRIESTE: Charme and Elegance of a town on the border, on the far eastern part of Italy
Reason for the destination’s choice
A town that has always inspired us charme and appeal … Moreover, it faces the sea and it represents the “door” to the East of Europe.
Transports
Train from Torino (comfortable and quite fast)
Accomodation chosen
As almost usual, a private flat suits us more than any other kind of accomodation.
We decided to stay in a private flat in the city centre: on the last floor, an attic inside a beautiful building; in the living room there was a spectacular porthole with a view towards the canals and the sea. A really comfortable and elegant flat.
What we have Seen / Done / Visited:
We are passionate about Art, particularly modern and contemporary art, we love the biggest 20th century painters and sculptors, but we also like innovative art, Graffitis, Murals and Street Art; we love Art Deco (Liberty) style both as architecture and as Design and Furniture (but also for the same period’s Fashion).
We like immersing ourselves in Nature, see stunning landscapes, the most characteristic colours of every place…
This time I really want to honor the emotion of the Good Food!! The triumph of gluttony!! Big Ups!!
We found a sublime place (certainly there are others..) where they prepare excellent specialties, genuine and authentic traditional food: the famous Buffet Triestino!
I can only say that we came back to eat there 3 times … divinely!!
Trieste is wonderful but certainly it would be worth while to go there even only for tasting the wonders of the Cuisine! Guaranted!!
We always try not to miss anything important in life .. pretty much all the time .. When travelling, even more …
Trieste is the homeland of a worldwide famous italian coffe brand! We are “coffe – addicted” and so… for us every day a couple of coffee breaks are mandatory! Where possible, we take the chance to visit historical and charming Cafeterias, such as here in Trieste!
We are not particularly consumers .. we spend for travelling and for visiting … and also for tasting typical and good food and products.
We are collectors of magnets and peculiar postcards: at home on the walls we have metal panels full of magnets coming from our travels / on the rear of the postcards Mario makes drawings and they remain among our travel souvenirs. In addition, when the trolley or the backpack are chock-full .. a few magnets and postacards can always fit, so you can always bring them home.
In this case, we also brought home a very good typical cake, the Presnitz.
